Greenwich Block Party – 2012

The Greenwich Police Silver Shield Association in partnership with The First Bank of Greenwich and “J House” will be hosting their 4th Annual Greenwich Avenue Block Party on Sunday August 5th from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on lower Greenwich Avenue south of Grigg Street and on Fawcett Place.

The block party will feature live music all day and dining el fresco as lower Greenwich Avenue is transformed into a vehicle free pedestrian mall. All neighborhood businesses and restaurants will be open. Additionally several local restaurants will participate in the street fair festivities including Sundown Saloon, MacDuff’s Pub and Druro Restaurant. There will be outdoor seating all along lower Greenwich Avenue. Music will be provided by Billy & the Showmen, Superhero and The Bored Lords.

This year a “Kid’s Court” has been added to the event. The entire length of Fawcett Place will be closed to traffic and activities for children will take place all day.

There will be a 3 story tall water slide, magicians, face painting and pony rides. Chicken Joe’s will provide food within the “Kid’s Court”.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Town of Greenwich Parks and Recreation Camp Scholarship Fund. A donation of $10.00 is asked of all adult attendees. A Ride the Slide all day bracelet will cost $10.00.
